Long time readers know well my love of red & white stripes, so needless to say the abundance of this happy combo at Christmas time always puts a smile on my face.

The  department store Santa’s knee changed from year to year, but no matter how bony the perch or fake the beard, we always knew there’d be a candy cane reward to soothe our performance anxieties, right?!

Candy Cane Martini- Ya Santa!

  • 1.5 oz. vodka
  • 1.5 oz. white crème de cacao
  • 1 oz. peppermint schnapps
  • Ice

Preparation

  1. In a shaker, combine the ice, vodka, white crème de cacao and peppermint schnapps.
  2. Shake the drink vigorously until well mixed.
  3. Crush candy canes with a rolling pin or other heavy object between wax paper sheets.
  4. Dip rim of chilled martini glass in water and then dip wet rim into crushed candy canes.
  5. Pour drink into glass and garnish with a mini candy cane.
