Nora Ephron on reading

What have you chosen for your summer reading? Anything you’re bursting to share?

I’m working a troika right now; “Middlemarch” (yes, still)

“My Struggle” Book 1, by Norwegian author Karl Ove Knausgaard

and “Love Nina” A Nanny writes home, by Nina Stibbe

Still too early in the game to report.

Hey-I’ve been working on Slim Paley!

  1. I’m reading “The House Girl” by Tara Conklin. I’m not a fast reader right now, because I’m doing other stuff. I read everyday and I always have a book I’m reading. I get a slightly panicky feeling when I’m nearing the end of an especially good book. My thinking is probably, I’ll never find another book this good.

  2. I have just read and enjoyed: Maisie Dobbs: the first Maisie Dobbs, The Collector, & Lovers at the Chameleon Club, Paris 1932…all 3 books are different, but have in common “the kind you stay up all night til you finish” quality. Bon Nuit!

  3. The Lady in Gold by Anne-Marie O’Connor…it’s about Klimt’s Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer.

  4. I’m reading “Defending Jacob”, and I just uploaded “My Struggle” on my kindle so that one will be next!

  5. M.F.K. Fisher.
    Rediscovering her after 30 years.
Her tales of food and travel in Provence are the quintessence of food and travel.
What a brave and intrepid soul she was to travel with her children!
(maybe it was the simpler times…?)
Current read: The Boss Dog: a story of Provence

  6. Last book that I read was “Crash and Burn” by Artie Lange. I have not read anything since then. It was a good book, though.

  7. This summer as part as my summer reading I’m reading Oedipus the king, Hunchback of Notre Dame and the memoir Night. In addition I’m reading several books about Ancient Rome in order to write a dissertation

  8. I am reading The Divine Comedy this summer – Inferno, Purgatorio and Paradiso. It’s the ultimate travel guide!

  9. I am a bit late to the Goldfinch party but just finished it and loved it. I am also trying to finish before I go to sleep before the thriller featuring nicole kidman is out so i can say that the book is so much more layered than the movie.

  10. I’ve just started reading ALL THE LIGHT WE CANNOT SEE by Anthony Doerr. I’m thinking it’s going to be more than a good read!

Would love to hear from you!
