ZING!

.

Don’t get me wrong.

It’s not that I don’t love the whole GREY/BEIGE/GREIGE  thaing that’s swept through the global design community and settled upon us like a tasteful, gunmetal scrim…

but right now, with it being summer and all, I’m feeling much more of a

ZING!!!

in my heart.

I want to bring all this lovely colour and light into my home for these long summer dayz…

How about you?

Come, let’s listen to cool new music and get  some  Zingy  inspiration together!

    • I clicked your link Bo! Not trying to hijack Slim’s fab post but we LOVE your Tearless Puppy Shampoo for our Italian Greyhound. She’s not a puppy anymore, almost six, but we use it because it is the only thing we have found that does not hurt her eyes and it makes her skin so soft. So thank you ;)

  1. Great post! I did a wedding last year at Santa Lucia Preserve, the place in the photo with all of the string lights and hanging colored globes! It looks so pretty that way – very happy and bright! I love all of the images that you chose in this post! So charming!

  2. As I read this, the sun is FINALLY coming out. Great inspiration to add some color to our porch! I love when you add a song with your posts, it makes it that much more fun to read! Great song too!

  3. Just when I’m clearing things out and going neutral…rather, everything the color of my 24/7 shedding dog. : ( This ZING really is beautiful and if I was renting a beach house for the summer I’d be all over it! All those colors go with the perfect tan. Miss you Slim! Hope you are well. xx

  4. Hi Slim,

you are Preaching the the Hardcore Converted here- I love colour and have the photographic evidence on my blog to prove it. I don’t get that whole let’s wear and frock up and surround ourselves with beige and griege Malarkey.

Colour is deadset cheering during life’s challenging times. Which let’s face it, are rampant these days.

I want that tunic (which where I live we’d call a Caftan Arrangement) so much my heart hurts.

    love me x

  5. Slim, I am zinging right along with you. I have to have color in my life and this post was so fun to view, Thank you for a colorful way to start my weekend,
    Kathysue
PS I just did a post on 10 outfits that will help you stay cool and fashionable, I needed the great tunic you have in this post for my line-up!!

  6. You have made my day. I was worried it was some kind of mid-life crisis, but I recently had my sofa recovered in the wildest pink and red stripes (Barefoot’s Tarala Flowers), and then when painters arrived on Wednesday to repaint my cream wall that had a water stain from the roof leaking, I told him to go hot pink on the spur of the moment. I haven’t put it all together yet, but after your post, I think I will be spending the rest of the day dragging furniture and playing with cushion combinations.

  7. I believe that the linen, steel, gray, beige, plain thing that seems to have been going on–IS OVER!! Bring on the colors. I see much of Sister roaming around these photos. Have a super week-end. Mary

  8. exuberant. (Looks weird any way you spell it, but a great word)

And why does the tunic beauty need about 30 pounds of bananas? I can’t help noticing them there.

Thanks for always making our day with your beautiful, funny posts. And REALLY thank you for not sending out a note saying you are done blogging like so many of my favorite bloggers lately. We do appreciate you sharing. You are never beige

  9. Sitting on the deck overlooking our NH lake, having just planted orange and yellow and peach and pink flowers….NYC might be for greige…….but not a country summer…….and now I’m thinking, “wonder if there’s time for me to get back to the nursery for some purple before they close?”
Thanks soooooooo much, as always for the, as always, timely inspiration!
And oh no! Life would be so dull and definitely not as happy if Slim Paley went away!

  10. I for one am a complete colour stalwart and will not give an inch to the greige crowd. Our home is packed to overflowing with bright busy vintage. Cushions especially (note to self – one can never have too many). My four fav colours that I luff 11/10 lime green, turquoise, hot pink or orange. I do not like matching anything as long as I have symmetry so thank you for you post slim as I’m so greyed out it was like a breath of fresh air. Funnily many of the home photos look like our rooms so I can totally relate to all that colourful goodness – bring it on!!!

  11. Gorgeous summer colors, ESPECIALLY the flowers and the spot with the hanging lanterns!!!! beautiful post. Love your new cushions too. Your porch makes ME happy too. XO, Pinky

  12. I’m always amazed why so many sombre colours are used in “high fashion” for the northern hemisphere winter

  13. Best post of the Summer—wowsers! I did the pdf thing on the jewelry—stunning!!! I also blogged the watercolor paintings………oh so gorgeous. Every photo was so colorful and lovely……merci merci!!

  14. Happiness! I am a color girl in my heart but a “greige” lover in my life. I satisfy my color urges with accessories and flowers. I bought a small cross body bag in fuchsia this summer and I wear it nonstop. It matches my toenail polish. :)

  15. This is great! I wish you all could read the post I wrote when I broke up with beige. White is next on my S list. I’m with you and 100% for color!!! Stop by my blog, scroll down a bit and read the letter. Thanks of this great post, thanks for color :-)

  16. Zing it to me!!! LOVE me some color. I, also, have not jumped on the greige wagon…not for this casa anyway!

    HELLOOOO colorful!

  17. dear ms. paley, which btw, should be a regular feature on your blog.

ok, dear ms paley, how does one go about adding bright, cheerful colors to a drab environ? i try, really i do, but i fail everytime.
a bright pink pillow looks out of place. so learn me girl.

    xo

ps – it is going gray can’t you see it?

    • “Dear Ms. Paley” as a regular feature on the blog?? You may just have a good idea there G.C.
YOU could be my first victim, er, I mean customer! :) I will address your question in an upcoming post.

  18. Summer joie de vivre in vibrant color photos. Zing zing those colors sing (corny but had to say). Great post.

  19. Just home from a long weekend in Bermuda – talk about color! The color of the water, the houses, the oleander – everywhere! It was an eyeful and more. My husband asked me what color I would paint my home if I lived there and I think when I got through the merits of at least six different colors, he had returned to his nap. I love color and my house reflects that. Thanks for this fun, colorful post!

  20. That song is super. Just loved it with this post. What an an amazing collection of images and color. It makes me happy just to see them all. Gorgeous!

  21. happi happi happi summer post………that gelato display/presentation is kray kray -over- d- top!!! ….when will they make gorgeous hi- heeled comfortable shoes with gel insert ergonomic cushioning enveloping our old, tired, bunioned, (size 10/11)feet????

  22. Wow! I love the colour in this post. Go away black and grey and beige and other non-colours, they’re not for me!

    Brilliant!
