I‘m in a red and black frame of mind  as we’re with friends and family in  Las Vegas this weekend.  Although, so far, things aren’t looking too rosy- despite seeing Cirque du Soleil’s LOVE again last night which is always a sensory treat.  As our seats afforded us stellar views of the ridiculously sinuous dancers I vowed to myself (as I always do) that I would stop eating naughty food for awhile.  That lasted until 11:45 this morning when we had PINK’s Hot Dogs delivered to our room.  I daren’t sully this post by adding the photo- although be assured, I did take one!  Oh…the flesh is weak…no where on the planet is this more apparent than in Vegas, I think we’d all agree.  As for my luck,  the night is still young, and the fact that we’re on the 21st floor… well, surely that means something!

However I’ll leave you with much prettier images than me debasing myself in Sin City, although I can’t promise I won’t post again in the wee hours if Lady Luck befriends me.

Julie Hagerty and Albert Brooks in “Lost in America”, possibly the funniest scene ever of someone losing control gambling. (I’m one roll away from her character  BTW 🙂 )

  1. I would get Botox in my feet to wear some of those shoes! Gorgeous! Well, now I want a Chris’ hotdog. Thanks for helping my diet, lol! Love these dresses.
    Have a nice trip.

  2. I still have a Dolce and Gabbana dress from 1990. Black chiffon, long, with red roses applied on it everywhere! Maybe I should bring it out again. I used to wear it every Christmas ( much better than the dreaded Christmas Sweater.) Now, we could call that dress “vintage.” BTW, Slim, can we wear more than one item of leopard at a time? I say yes if the textures are different. Same goes for roses???

  3. You take great pics!

Love your blog! I just can’t go to Las Vegas. I can’t even say “Vegas”! I just cannot. It sticks in my throat.

My cute new friend……….Tracey Jackson gave me your cute bag with the pic of the “Birkin” on the front…………

    can’t we order more???

My fave thing I have seen in years!!!!!!!!

i love that hotel room with the red rose bedspread. also, love your red roses in your garden. so pretty.

vegas is hard for me because of the cigarette smoke. when i was younger it didn’t bother me and i had a lot of fun there. also, they took out the diving board at caesars, now what am i supposed to do?

  5. I am in Las Vegas right now also and after seeing “O” last night we did an In N Out Burger drive through at 11:00. Hope you are having fun. MB

  6. Dear lord, this post was awesome. Now I’m going to be going through my wardrobe to see what I can find that I can style like this . . . I know I’ve got the tights, and some good lipstick. I’ll have to dig for the rest . . .

  7. Spectacular post ~ one of your best!
The black dress with the giant white bow floors me and I love the rubie slippers. The red Givenchy lip gloss looks tempting. Is the Fendi bag vintage? How surprising to see Fendi do petit point.
Wishing you lots of luck at the tables! 🙂

Loved it all again, as usual.

It’s called Real Life – when it came out, I was rolling in the aisles laughing, literally – and to this day, just thinking about those head cameras will make me chuckle!!! One of my favorites is Modern Romance – driving around the neighborhood, Mr. Popularity!! omg – I am cracking up. I will def. watch it tonight!!!!!
