We have been without internet in our house for 2 days now.
TWO DAYS.
I don’t know why, but OMG. Seriously. I mean it’s one thing if you’re on holiday and have no service, but the unimaginable INDIGNITY of no service in your own home-WELL, let me tell ya… the entire household is in an uproar. While the mystery of the downed service remains unsolved, I hate to suggest things are getting testy but, at one point, even my bill paying skills have come under suspicion (FYI-it isn’t that)
So, right now I’m sitting in my parent’s kitchen hijacking their internet (apparently they pay their bills
)
The upside of the situation is as I don’t have access to my photo files, it affords the perfect opportunity for me to have a little ‘brag moment’ and share this ;

Needless to say I was both honoured and excited to participate in this blogging article for HouseBeautiful.com.
It wasn’t easy to narrow my ‘Blog Crush’ down to just one blog (story of my life) but that was our mission should we choose to accept.
I hope you have as much fun as I did discovering some new design blogs here!

Wishing everyone a lovely, cozy weekend. I know it’s very cold in many parts of the country.
I’ll be back as soon as the Internet Gods allow. In the meantime, I’m at the mercy of my iPhone ( I love you iPhone)

It’s through this article that I found you – I love discovering new blogs! Well to me anyway
Hope you get your Internet back soon…
Holy cow! I haven’t even checked out the story yet because I have to write IMMEDIATELY that I think that is the first time I have seen a proper photo of you–aka not wearing sunglasses, hat, ski mask, etc–and really? You are that beautiful on top of all of your other good fortunes in life? Girlfriend has got it gooood. And she deserves it.
Bisous,
H
Slim,
I can’t imagine how frustrating it must be…we’ve all come to depend, rely, need our internet! You may be over the addiction if it takes very long to get it back up and running…just think of the hours you’d gain.
I am looking forward to checking out the chain of noteworthy design blogs. Other than you and A Bloomsbury Life I had never visited, or heard of, the others.
Enjoy your weekend.
Karen
The rain used to affect our phone and internet service (ahem….at&t). Now we have a cable provider for internet, another for the phone and a third (satellite I think?) for our tv! Argh. No cost saving bundles for us.
What has happened to us that we can’t live without these things?
Congratulations on your being a blogger’s obsession. I bet you were everyone’s favorite but already taken.
I admire your inner strength and stoicism, Slim. Although a lack of internet service would provide a wonderful opportunity to catch up on reading or those movies that are waiting on the DVR, I would go stark, raving mad after, uh, about, umm, 5 hours! Remember that as with all great crises, this too shall pass. Congrats again on the well-deserved recognition!
Congrats Slim! You are one of my fave bloggers. But, I’m sorry I read this because now I have added 5 more blogs to my already over flowing mail box. I’m sure I will enjoy reading them. We lost cable for several days earlier this month. I felt like I was in de-tox and my children thought they would die of boredom. Turned out to be a blessing in disguise — we spent more time together playing games and reading books. It was all over once we were plugged back in. Hope the Internet fairy stops by tonight.
I saw this on Pinterest. Congrats! I couldn’t agree more that you should be in this list! Good luck with the internet re-boot.
Congratulations!! How fabulous to be the object of obsession! I’m sure a fabulous Friday cocktail must be in order now, I know it is for me. Oh, and I just checked out A Bloomsbury Life and love it. I’ll definitely be checking in with her on a regular basis.
Congrats….and those roses are exquisite. Enjoy your unintended moments of the grid..enjoy the short respite of silence. These interwebs can get noisy. So excited for your honor..kuddos.
Congratulations, Caroline. Well deserved!
Well deserved Slim and I visited your favorite and agreed and subscribed. Hope the internet is up soon…how did we ever do it?
I think you or maybe Reggie Darling were my first blogs and I enjoyed reading the article ..I love Janelle McCulloch’s library of Design.
The most annoying thing about downed internet..you still get charged for the time you cant use it …well my provider has this policy not that I have bothered to argue the point with them,. Damned obsessive this stuff isnt it ?
I found you when Cote de Texas mentioned you once….and it was love at first read….can’t wait to check out the others…but don’t worry I will be faithful and not fancy another more
….on another note it is raining here in La Quinta too…I heard this funny noise and looked outside to see rain drops in the pool and thought what, I have to take the sandals off today??? Being a snow bird from Seattle it is a sin to take off sandals in 70 degree weather
Loved that article… Congratulations… and so well deserved… your blog is always such a pleasure and one that I look forward to … Happy weekend and may the internet God find you sooner rather than later… xv
Beautiful Slim in the blog circle of love, so happy for you! And OMG to be without internet–the horror–only thing worse would be doing without my MacBookPro. Oh drat the perverted love I have for my computer and internet and my favorite blogs!! You are #1 on my list plus I also love This is Glamorous. I don’t know if it is really a “true” design blog but she covers design, food, clothes, etc… Really hope you get your internet back soon Slimie!
Well deserved, but she forgot to mention how hysterically funny you are, which is what many of us enjoy the most!
Congratulations.
As a fellow blogger, I know blogging can be time consuming and we can get lost in the blissful blogging world. You have worked hard and it shows. Your blog is amazing.
Enjoy your weekend.
Congratulations!!!! You rock Slim Paley!
And if I squint a bit (easy with old age eyeballs now) while looking at that photo of you..I
swear you look a bit like Kate Winslet (one of my fav actresses)!
BTW, knew something was wrong that we hadn’t “heard” from you
in sooooo long. Hopefully Internet gods will be merciful.
Wow- you must be squinting REALLY hard Susan!!
FYI- the Internet Gods have finally returned (this being Monday) Let’s hope they stay now.
Congratulations! So well deserved. Your posts always make me smile and your visuals are fabulous! (Especially the shoes!)
Amy Merrick created my wedding bouquet & reception flowers! They were perfection & I adore her. She is so amazing, kind & talented. Amy made my wedding so memorable & beautiful.
CONGRATULATIONS!! Yes, we do tend to get a bit obsessive. Good luck with the internet.

So well deserved Slim….You truly are amazing. Loved each and every blog.
You have the gift Girlfriend.

I can tell you that her at this house my hubby would be CRAZY if we lost our internet!!! he lIVES on his darn computer. Congrats on the article. You are beautiful. XO, Pinky
I wondered where you were and hoped all was well. Congrats. Those are some terrific blogs. I find stealing WIFI an admirable trait in my blog obsessed life.
Hi Slim – LOVE your blog. It makes my day
I am in the market for a new camera. I remember a while back you shared the kind of camera(s) you use. I can’t find that old post. Would you be kind enough to share that info again. I’d love to get it on my birthday wish list
. Thank you for being and sharing you!
CONGRATULATIONS SLIM.OX.
I reviewed all the blogs and while they are nice, none of them matches you. You are the best.
How awesome is that? Congrats! Hope you get internet back soon
Congrats – great to see you on the list and Lisa would have been one of my very top picks as well! Hope you’re reconnected soon!
First of all, congratulations! We live out in the country, so I understand firsthand what it is like to have internet outages for no reason. It is the 21st century, everyone in the US should have access to high-speed internet. At our house when we can’t connect we feel like that Munch painting. Perfect image!
