Good Afternoon. Yes, we’re starting off the afternoon talking about vodka.
Tis The Season, after all…
Ever since these bottles jumped out at me in a European magazine last year, I’ve had my eye out for them.
Try to convince me packaging isn’t everything
‘Unique Edition’ Absolut vodka $27.95 and Christmas decorations from Target
A twist on the candle or a bottle of wine as a hostess gift, they’re fun at your cocktails station, especially this time of year.
You do have a cocktail station don’t you?!
Naturally I had to get my little fluorescent shot beaker from Paris into the pic. (filled with chartreuse, not vodka) Unfortunately the contents is looking decidedly more yellow than fluoro-green in these photos.

Yup, I stole this image from one of my posts last year. Can you believe I posted almost every day of December last year? Who was that masked Overachiever??!
Christian Dior
I cannot tell a lie. This was originally going to be two posts; one on fluorescents and one on opalescents but just LOOK at the time- It’s the 20th already!

Edmundo Castillo
I’m liking this artist Matthew Brandt
“‘taste tests in color’ in which the artist silk screened picturesque american landscapes
by using a food item in place of traditional ink such as ketchup or mole sauce. in this particular ‘taste test’, the artist recreates the image of vernal falls of
yosemite national park into several multi-layered prints made permanent by food or household objects such as toothpaste, kool-aid, airhead candies,
or pharmecutical pills”
I’m presuming the silk screened are sprayed with some sort of preservative.
Someone else has been dipping into the ‘pharmaceuticals’

I know pink hair is getting old and so am I, but I’d like some. I really would.
I am the right brain. I am creativity. A free spirit. I am passion. Yearning. Serendipity (I think…I couldn’t really read that word. It might say ‘sensuality’ but I prefer serendipity) … I am vivid colours. etc.
I am tired of reading the tiny print.

I love these desk organisers but I’m way beyond help in that department. My husband always looks at my desk, shakes his head and says “I can’t believe you’re a Virgo”

Light my fire Baaaybeee!
this chair even has “Absolut Love” written on it. Freaky man.

I still have lots to share in the next few days so I very well might be doubling down again.
Peace Out for now

Slim,
You’re too young to remember but been there done that with florescent anything. I can remember sending our oldest son off to school in fluorescent shorts, he loved them as that was the color of the month.. LOL.
The infused vodka’s could be a problem, I’m currently hooked on pear with club soda!
karen
Don’t worry-it’s not infused, it’s just the bottle that is coloured.
Oscar de la Renta Spring 2013, the absolute end. Loved it, need most of it.
This POST IS SO MUCH FUN!!!! Your sense of color is OUTRAGEOUS!!! This IS the “spirit!!” franki
Thanks Franki!
Love these photos!
Fun! Fun! Fun! So great to see this blast of colors as the first day of winter is upon us tomorrow. And I am with you about having some pink hair. Covering up my “old” hairs with brown is getting dull, but my two twenty year old daughters might think I have gone off my rocker!
As always, thanks for your wonderful posts.
Those shoes! The vodka! The earrings!! You do it to me every time, just need to colour my hair pink.
Have the happiest of Christmases Slim. Your posts brighten my day.
You are so great! Love you. Love your blog. Am having a shot of vodka in your honor! JT from Maine
From one right brained slightly sloppy Virgo to another, The Merriest of Christmases to you and yours and enjoy everything and anything fluorescent that appears before you.
Love,
Shalagh
In this season of gray and white this is a very refreshing post!!! Love every pic and of course your insightful comments!!! Wish I could drink (I take blood thinners so alcohol is a no no for me…boo hoo) but I can live vicariously through you!!!! Merry Merry!!
WOW!
I absolutely adore those earrings. Must have! So nice to see color!!!
PEACE to you too!! Love, love, love this post, the colors are yummy.
What a delicious post!
Yay pink hair. (Yay pink anything and everything, really.)
Lovely…love the Christmas tree ideas. Very uplifting!
Gorgeous and Fun! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you. Looking forward to S. P. Posts in 2013!
Slim, there are some who can’t believe I am a Virgo either! That looks like my brain’s right side. As an artist I love color and love all of these very cool images!

Crazy for the hot pink and all the super pretty shots Slim!
This is so much fun! Kudos to you Slim + I always look forward to opening a post from you! xxpeggybraswelldesign.com
Ooooh, so festive, bright and happy! Thanks for a huge burst of color just before the shortest, darkest day
of the year. Your postings are oh so addictive and you spoiled us last year when you posted every
day up to Christmas. More Slim Paley creative energy and light, please, please!
I love this post. It is colour therapy! Cheered me up and got me thinking of……vodka.
My eyes! My eyes! Such a merry and BRIGHT post! I LOVE how you decorated the vodka! Is it too late to add that iPad case to my list?!
I could do with a little Fluro Absolut right about now!! Happy Christmas… xv
I just picked up the marshmallow….I can’t keep up. Xo
Impossible to look at this post and not smile at some part of it. Impossible. I do believe that is a SP speciality. Although personally, I did my fluo time in the 80s–Stephen Sprouse, natch. I am still kicking myself for not buying one of the fluo leather jackets when they were on sale for $120, what was I thinking? Anywho, karma to youuuu for spreading joy. One more please before Noel?
You are missing a vodka derivative – our New Year project is to make Limoncello – using our 90 proof Vodka and organic limone. it is Sydney and it’s summer!
I want pink hair too! just love it, I dont even drink but have to find those absolut bottles !
Check out a site called “Operation Rainbow Brains” on Facebook……reminds me of the firewood!
Okay, so I have a confession to make of a guilty pleasure. Your Absolut vodka photos brought it to mind. I went to a Thanksgiving party at a very swell house in Greenwich this year where one of the guests, a fashion designer whose frocks I am sure you own several of, brought a bottle of Marshmallow flavored Stolichnaya vodka with her. When I arrived she was doling out shots of it on ice. I could not believe what I tasted — it really does taste like marshmallows toasted over a campfire! We all agreed that it was the “Ultimate Chic Drink” and happily asked for more. Try it, I am serious! Reggie
PS,
Slim — thanks for the tip on Gary Cooper at Sun Valley re. my post on Norwegian sweaters. I’ve updated it to include a picture of him wearing one. Thanks!! Reggie
Hi Reggie
Perhaps this certain fashion designer reads Slim Paley?! The toasted marshmallow cocktail was my Cocktail of the Season last year!!

But read this and be forewarned!

Merry Christmas to you & Boy! xx
Well, well, well! I imagine she (the fashion designer) must be one of your followers! And silly me not to remember last year’s cocktail of the season! The next time I see her, I will be sure to ask her! Many thanks, Reggie
I love these great colours!
Packaging may not be everything, but it works for me most of the time. Absolut and Tarjay…perfect combo. And no, I do not have a cocktail station! What have I been thinking??! New Years resolution #1, create a cocktail station and stock it well.
You can have pink hair without the commitment. I used “Color Bug” by Kevin Murphy. Swipe it on, shot of hairspray to hold it and washes right out. Cool Baby.

Late to read this; but still, what a color shot! Love, love this! Thanks for your blog and Happy New Year!
Yes! Late to the party and what a wonderful one it is! LOVE the right brain splash, as I, too, represent that! And the constant presence of the messiest desk, omnipresent chaos of space and materials that leads to my creative genius (!) surprises even me…and I thought it was just a Sagittarius thing…I love that I am in your company in this!
Happiness, health, colorful, chaotic clutter and divine design inspiration are what I wish for you in the coming year! Thank you for all you give!
xoxo, Chris
S.P. Where do you list credits for photos other than your own?
I would like to know the painted firewood photo origin – Thanks!
Hi Linda,
if I haven’t listed a credit or one doesn’t come up under the cursor when you run it over the image, then I don’t have one. I always try to credit when I can but most uncredited photos are from Tumblr or Pinterest or Google Search.
