You see this is one of the things I love about Christmas decorating; We’re totally spoiled for choice.
Just as I’m seduced by one colour palette & theme, another pops up to lead me astray. Who can say if natural, all hemp & pine combs and brown paper packages trumps an ethereal all white decor, or the raucous colour of a vintage looking tree like the one above?!
Perhaps if you’re tucked away in the mountains, the natural look feels…natural, but if you’re celebrating in the city, silver & tinsel, magenta & turquoise might be just what Santa ordered.
I love them all, I really do. I’d even venture a black christmas tree. In the right setting, with white decorations, it could be so chic!

Meanwhile, back to the moment & my bedroom, I doubt Lady Gaga has more glitter in her sheets. It’s in my hair, my eyes, it’s all over the computer keyboard.
It’s in the freezer for God’s sake.
PS. So is the new Marshmallow and Whipped Cream Vodka

Too bad it’s only under my nails instead of on them.
But let’s not even talk of nails. mine look like I’m auditioning for the remake of “The Grapes of Wrath”

Day 21
Sorry if I got any glitter on you
&
Happy Hanukkah!!
~
I love the Dylan’s candy bar tree, but I think I liked the snow white post better. Cheers to colour and blue lips (only on skin like that, though! I would look like a corpse!)
Love that first tree, probably because I have one just like it:(http://somecozynight.com/2011/12/07/what-christmas-means-to-me/)
But I am a sucker for the fresh pine route as well and that is how I wind up doing one of each in the table-sized version every year. Ack. (And please don’t feel compelled to post this comment with a link…I just didn’t know how else to include the photo.)
I have been loving the daily posts — happy holidays!!
My girlfriend always refers to glitter as the herpes of the crafting world….it never goes away.
Love the white vintage tree!
What is about glitter that makes us all so giddy? I just love it even when the sun hits it and you notice it in spots it’s not supposed to be (like on your husband’s nose or the kitchen floor)
Happy holidays to you and yours
You are a chameleon with a (glittered) bow!! You are a GIFT!!! franki
Love the old glass ornaments. I have my family’s oldies from the fifties and they just get better every year. Thanks for all the great posts. I’m really enjoying the daily format.
Best,
Ruth
Colorific! Love the candy tree!
I love your posts. They always make me smile!
Merry Christmas!
My favorite so far! I can see now where I fall on the “spectrum”. My tree is all colored lights, jewel tones and vintage ornaments.
Wow! I especially love those gifts wrapped in *satin? I also respectfully bow to Judith Leiber! Simply gorgeous.
You’re spoiling us! I love, love, love the color although I’ll stick to the Vanilla martini. Have you tried the vodka yet? I saw it at the store and hesitated. Thought I would wait to hear from Slim first before investing in such a large amount…let us know. Thanks
Will I have to endure withdrawals once Christmas is over? Will you be going back to 2-3 posts per week…just asking…may need to buy some marshmallow vodka.
I laughed at what so many of us avid blog-readers must go through. About the time I’ve defined, in my pea sized brain, my “style preference” and along comes some fantastic post using design components that I never imagined I’d love and bam! I’m ready to consider another style, Christmas is probably the most tempting time of all!
We’re officially on countdown…so exciting and fun.
Karen
This is a stunning post….makes me want to get off the couch (horrible flu still) and get dressed up and go out some place…any place….
Such glitter and fun Slim! Hope you are having a glittery good time over there getting everything shiny and bright. Thank you for the mention and wishing you and your family the most wonderful Christmas. XO
This was just delicious! Love the clothes pins and just the idea of classic shiny round ball ornaments on gifts… Thanks for putting me BACK in the spirit!
Such happy colors! Love it all, earrings adorable. You are almost there, happy times with your entire family-Thats what Christmas is all about. Merry Christmas xo
Love all the jewel tones, especially for Christmas! My wrap is orange, purple, olive, fuchsia this year with a big orange satin bow.
Thank you for including my shot Slim… what great company to be in… Happy, happy Christmas… xv
I LOVE the first tree in your post AND the Dylan’s Candy Bar tree! So fun! I’m looking forward to seeing your black Christmas tree next year
I thought I didn’t like color for Christmas and was all about whites and neutrals. But now you’ve really confused me. Those glitter images are gorgeous. I would even take some glitter in a marshmallow martini.
what were you glittering?
Maybe the better question is ‘What was I NOT glittering’?!
I need details, Slim!!!
I was putting images on brown packages and trying to embellish around the edges with glitter, but it didn’t work out as well as I’d hoped.
Then I put glitter on ribbon. Bad idea also.
I need an Etsy tutorial
hands down! you are my favorite blogger. love your eye!
awww-thanks Denise!
Glitter is my favorite “mess”.
Hi Slim, Oh how I love color! Thank you so much, this is fabulous! I’m much less morose today, I apologize! whew, what is it about the holidays that turns us all into children, the good and the bad? This was soooooo uplifting and FuN! Everything. Thank you again, I wish that you would send a daily post, and I’m sure that you wish that I would hush! Take care and thank you so much again, Pam
