In Honour of Mother’s Day;
SIT UP STRAIGHT AND WEAR YOUR FRUIT!
You ‘d have to be a Fashion Magazine Teetotaler not to have clocked the abundance of fruity delights proffered up by designers for Spring/Summer 2011…in which case, you probably wouldn’t be a Slim Paley reader, now would you?! But just in case (and because I hate to leave anyone out-this is a 100% all inclusive blog, except for certain Housewives on Bravo (and their husband) everyone is welcome here- even Jazz Lovers!) er, wait…what was I saying?? Oh ya, trust me, it’s a veritable cornucopia of fruity frivolities out there! Personally, I’m really liking it. It’s fun and it makes me smile, although I don’t generally invest in prints that date themselves so quickly, one or two pieces might be just what the Nutritionist ordered.
Stella McCartney wins for growing the prettiest, most photographed crop, but I’m sure we’ll be seeing the trickle down into less expensive shops before you can say “Darling, There’s a seed in my Mimosa”

Dal Lago fruit jewels in diamonds & enamel

Kiwi & Strawberry fruit Mojito
-
Kiwi – 1 pcs
-
Strawberry – 5 pcs
-
Brown Sugar – 3 spoon
-
White Rum – 45 ml
-
Dark Rum – 30 ml
Gently muddle 1 kiwi and 5 fresh Strawberry along with 60 grams of Brown sugar, once sugar starts melting add crushed ice and 45ml of Bacardi white rum. Thoroughly mix all the ingredient with the flat end of a spoon. Once all ingredients are mixed top the glass with crushed ice. Sprinkle 30 ml of Bacardi black rum. Garnish with slice of watermelon and passion fruit.

Well, well, I guess “Mom” will be buying her own Mother’s Day gift this year. . . Tom Ford’s wonderful perfume along with tangerine polish and be quite happy doing it. Thanks for a sunny start to the week end. All of the fruit looks so good I may eat the Stella fabric and wear the bananas!

What an enchanting post for a dreary SB day! I want the banana purse the model wearing the banana skirt is carrying! And those Tom Ford products look mighty tempting. This post brings back a wonderful memory to me — when I was young I went with my parents to pre-Castro Cuba and on the night of a full moon we went to see visiting performer Josephine Baker at the Tropicana night club. She started the show, then stopped the music and ordered all the lights be turned out and she did her entire fantastic show by MOON LIGHT!!! A night never to be forgotten!

I just bought orange sandals and I thought,”I don’t know”? Well, now I “know” I did the right thing!
First off, LOVE the new blog header! It captures all things Slim and it is perfect for spring! Second, my next pedicure will be done in tangerine. And finally, if that Tom Ford scent is as pretty as the packaging, I will be sold.
I’m looking forward to spending the day tomorrow with my family. My 3 year old already gave me my Mother’s Day Card and then shortly after spilled the beans on my present. Looks like it is a Mother’s Day weekend for me!

Just the song I was thinking of – the horses at camp used to love it – wagging their tails in the stable! I snapped that photo in Cambodia Jeanne, so unfortunately I don’t know what that fruit is…Breadfruit, maybe?? Just a wild, and probably wildly inaccurate, guess…
Although the ones I buy when I go to Chinese markets in Alhambra and Monterey Park are usually dark red I believe they are lychee fruit. That spiney shell is removed and we get the slippery white fruit we know inside surrounding a very big hard seed.
Yes, lychees and dragon fruit.
