Happy Superbowl Weekend Everyone!!
In honour of The Big Event, I’ve compiled this post on the colours of one of the NFL teams (their name escapes me at the moment, but they’re not in the Super Bowl) What’s that you say? There isn’t any team in the NFL with these colours?? But it’s such a hot combination- that’s just crazeee. Well, I can’t change the post now, so please enjoy it and the big game anyway. Let’s all pray for good weather in Dallas tomorrow!!

PS. I finished 2nd place in The Homies!
Sincere Congratulations go to YoungHouseLove , who finished in 2nd place last year and went for “Gold” this time.
I’m super happy with my “Silver”- Only sorry that the Mimosas and caviar are not to be
PPS. We could sneak some right?…it being Superbowl Weekend and all…
.

PPS. Oh Darn, Look at that- I didn’t leave myself enough time to do a thorough break down of my predictions for the game tomorrow
.

Post post post script. Many thanks to “Eights” my first commenter who reminded me that it’s the Miami Dolphin’s that are in fact TANGERINE & TEAL-
I knew I wasn’t crazeeee
.

…of course I don’t have to tell you who this is, we all know that… (“Eights“- hellooo- paging “Eights”)
~
Psssst…the Miami Dolphins are teal & orange
Eights!! I knew it! SOMEONE gave me some misinformation and is going to be in the dog house for that!
PS. Are they playing tomorrow?
Hi there! So glad I could help
The Dolphins are NOT playing tomorrow – and that photo is of one of their quarterbacks, John Beck. Colors for tomorrow’s game include: black, gold, white, & green (hunter, to be specific). Enjoy your Sunday!
Just fabulous. Two of my favorite colors.
You must have spent hours researching to get just the right colors, but it was worth all your time to do this.
Enjoyed it all.
Spirit
Love this+congratulations for getting on the list. Next year go for the 1st. place. We will be there for you! xx peggybraswelldesign.com
Beautiful!!! How funny, I have always loved that color combo..and peacocks, by the way!!! And those colors also represent my dear friend’s line of all natural sunscreen, Dr. Robin… that actually works!!! wish i had sent you this before your inspired post..i must re-post your blog for all to see!!! congrats on the silver..(i like silver more than gold anyway!
http://drrobin.md/
What is this? Have we been time-warped back to the 80′s?
Love, love Moroccan Oil. And I think the artist you’re searching for may be De Kooning?
Well, you deserved to win but maybe next year. Love the house…and I don’t even like the color peach. Although I do like peaches, does that count?
Karen
One of my all time favorite color combos (my blog is a version of that – with a bit more blue than teal)!! And I know that painting – oh the poor gray matter just doesn’t work like it used to!!
Oh – and congratulations of course! I had champagne for lunch in your honor (and my sister-in-law whose birthday is today).
Willem de Kooning, Composition, 1955, Collection of the Guggenheim.
Cool.
You for sure in my opinion are the winner. Congrats on being #2. You have only just begun .
Love this post, every shot stunning . Vivienne Westwoods boots are adorable, she has always made fashion Fun. Missoni adorable. Love the house, actually every single shot shouts splendid. Thanks again for putting a smile on my face. ox
Thank you so much B.B.B.
Re: the Missoni bag in a bag: Maybe she is going to the hairdresser, via the runway, to get her color done. My hairdresser puts my bag in a bag to avoid dye splatter.
Love that De Kooning. Wow.
Slim, next year NUMBER ONE!!!!! Slim Paley in 2012! Who care’s about Super Bowl when there are Homies!!
Congrats on the silver. That is awesome ! I’m a redhead and your colors today are my favs. Just beautiful. It’s so hard being from Dallas today. The weather so bad. It was 80 degrees 9 days ago and look at this. Today, okay, but expecting maybe more snow round 6 pm tomorrow. Game time 5:30. So sad for Dallas and everyone here for the festivities. But a champagne toast to you Miss Slim………………
It’s such a shame- I remember feeling like that for Vancouver during the first few days of the Winter Olympics. I do hope the snow will hold off tomorrow afternoon.
I was just talking about this on my twitter (oh, gosh… ). It’s all good, you’ll be # 1 next year! We’ll do it, right?!
We need to call Erin (House of Turquoise!). She’d love this post!
Are you going to watch the Superbowl? I will notttttt.
I hope you’re enjoying your weekend!
Love this post and the beautiful colors.
Take care, sweetie!

Perfect! Love the bottles–all of it, in fact.
Brain thaw…..Willem de Kooning
I’ll pretend I knew that.
Congrats on the Silver (which goes much better with Tangerine and Teal btw).
Here is my contribution to your colour theme – Dries Van Noten shoes (I love him more and more with every passing year) http://the-tailoress.blogspot.com/2010/10/best-of-dries-van-noten-springsummer.html
And if you are ever up in Victoria you must come to Clive’s for some fabulous cocktails – in fact we’ll do a Clive’s –> Bengal Lounge –>Veneto cocktail crawl
Beautiful post!!
Zing went my heart!! Turquoise is my birth stone and who doesn’t wear tangerine with a Paige Wallace turquoise necklace while lightly tanned and going out for a Tangerine Mimosa at Slim’s place. (Whew! that is a mouthful of good stuff)
Loved the post and sincere good wishes on the Homies honor . . . remember in rental cars and bloggers number 2 tries harder (place emoji here)
ha ha! thanks Merle
Cheers!
Moroccan oil is fabulous! Was very pleased to see that posted.
OMG! Every image! …no Miami this year. They have been there a zillion times with one special football memory for me. For Super Bowl XIX in 1984, my (Belgian linen colored) cat was perched in the large sycamore tree in our front yard dressed in his Dolphin player’s “jersey” (turquoise & tangerine!) when cars would stop and…HUH?!! Just the reaction I was striving for! You decorate your car and I decorated the cat!
You are always the BEST SP!
Hugs!
What???? The Mimosas and caviar are not to be?
Of course they are to be!! We will make it happen.
A silver medal deserves mimosas and caviar — on me of course — the only question is where and when?
You will win next year for sure!
I’d much rather look at this than some dumb football game.
Slim, you are my new style guru.
Funny you started the presentation with a peacock, I did my entire Christmas tree and home in a peacock theme. (:^)
Congrats on winning the silver!
Regards, Dawne
i love that farrow and ball paper. love it. might be my favorite paper ever. well, one of my top 10. hehe
Hey Hommie,
I am obsessed lately with Peacock blue (my husband informed me that there is a Peahen but not so pretty more like a grey….) anyways, when I saw your first picture I was excited. I am all about Peacock Blue and Gold (or tangerine?) in our family room. I am not sure which team sports those colors but who ever does, LUCKY!
R
I am a Wisconsinite so I have to watch the Super Bowl lest I’m disowned from the family. S’okay, Aaron Rodgers is gorgeous. Any ideas for good Super Bowl snacks? I have hummus and carrots which I don’t think will go over well.
I’m curious – when you decide your combo colors do you use a color wheel to see which colors compliment each other? Like if you find violet, directly across from it is yellow. Yikes I just described Minnesota Viking colors. Yeesh.
No Terri, the colour wheel is in my head, always turning
I especially liked the Matisse–”Looking Out the Window”–and the Dior outfit that followed. Masterful!
Dear Slim
You were robbed.
PS: Thanks. Now I have a team to follow in the NFL.
(From Oz)
The Silver!! That’s fantastic!! Congratulations Slim!!
Slim, this post is perfection! I love the Diane VF dress! I want it.
The Matisse is so gorgeous and that room from BH&G looks sooooo comfy.
Congrats on Silver, and I agree with all others that think silver is better than gold!
You have totally gotten me in the mood for Spring fashion, even though we are still in the deep freeze in Michigan. THANKS.
Wonderful colours Slim.
Co-incidentally, I crashed through our ceiling into the flooded bedroom last night, trying to fix roof tiles, after cyclone Yasi.
(Well I was taking photos of the men fixing the roof.)
I expect my back and bum will be TANGERINE AND TEAL by tomorrow.
Cheers
Klutzy
Louise
High drama Down Under- No more cocktails on the roof Louise!
Reminds me of the time my husband went up to our roof in the pouring rain to check on repair progress and found the roofers smoking pot. The waterproofing they had jury-rigged over their joint displayed much more ingenuity than their roof repairs.
And there she goes again, Touchdown for Slim!!!!!!!!
The Missoni plastic bag…no mystery there – she is off for a picnic! She has her seat cushion tied to her head, her blanket wrapped naround her shoulders, her napkins tied around her ankles, and the plastic bag is for the trash when she finishes. Of course being a model, she doesn’t carry much food – it all fits in her handbag. I think this is a version of campaign furniture…campaign couture?
Bingo Debra, luv it!
What a lovely visual tour — I’m honored to have an image included. We cruised the Sardegna last summer and the coast was covered with combinations of turquoise and mandarin. On our last day we found ourselves in a bay where there was a sailing camp — the mandarin colored coaching boats against the turquoise waters were stunning. Do links work in comments??, I’m not sure, but we can try…here’s the link…http://www.splendidmarket.com/2010/09/colors-of-sardegna.html
Thanks the lovely art shots — very nice!!
Congratulations on the silver Slim, very much deserved!
Congratulations Slim for your silver win….
Wow….what a great post, you really are the empress of color combination.
Thanks for your inspiration.
decogirlmontreal
P.S. Congratulations on the homie award — silver is splendid!!
Congratulations on 2nd place! Much deserved.
Love all the images and I must say, I wasn’t really paying attention to the Super Bowl hype either. Shame, shame.
Have a great week. xo
congrats on the homies! that’s awsome…
Dear Slim, I have no idea what the team’s colours are. All I know is this is one of my favourite colour combinations. Lovely post as always and congrats in finishing second. Have a wonderful week xx
you are so funny about the dolphins.
such a beautiful post and then the news that you didn’t win. so lame. but i’ve said from the start you were in the wrong category. and whose fault is that? why would they put this blog in with home diy’ers? why? so lame. arghhhhh.
xo
janet
Forget the silver in the Hommies….You are the first in our heart!!!!…..X
Dear Slim,
You had me with the first Matisse, but I’m also a fan of the ‘BLUE’ and orange, as I am a graduate of THE University of Florida. But, I also live in the land of the TEAL, being in the mist of the Jaguars mania. So sorry that both my teams were on the losing end this season, but the Gators will return! Not so sure about the Jaguars.
Loved this post – only wish you were with me when I saw the Matisse exhibit at the Dallas Museum of Art a few years ago.
After being scared of orange, I’m now using a chinoiserie fabric in my new master bedroom – just recovered the headboard – that is heavy on the orange. The master bath will be turquoise!
Much work to do!
Love your photos,
Joanne
Congratulations! I came across a photo of nanette lepore’s townhouse parlor from elle decor which fits so perfectly into this theme. I will figure out how to paste things here … eventually, hopefully. I love this combo, so refreshing and dynamic, and matisse makes me smile!
I love your sense of color. You may like what my brother, the sculptor, does with color. He’s in NY, in Soho. You seem to love NY so…..
http://www.peterreginato.com/BocaRaton5.htm
I think you’ll like this!
Fun! It looks like your brother must be a happy soul!
I loved this and the names tangerine and teal sound so delish! I just rented a office space and I needed to get inspired – and this is my inspiration for it
So happy my post inspired you Eija!!
lovely….as always. mimosas are in order, well, just because!
Congrat’s Slim on coming in second. Like everyone else, I know you are # 1. Great post, beautiful colours.

Well done, Slim! Second place! We are proud.
