Well- You won’t believe it, but I didn’t get Friday Favourites posted yesterday because the power went out . I was sick . I was kidnapped!! Ohmigod. It was like super traumatic and everything, but my husband paid the ransom, I’m home again, safe and sound and I think I gained a couple of new Slim Paley readers in my captors 
Due to the kidnapping, I wasn’t able to shop this week (every cloud has a silver lining) so my purchasing recommendations will have to be aborted ’til next Friday. But hey- it won’t kill you not to shop for a week. After what I’ve been through I’ve got a whole new outlook on life. Dressing comfortably, always having a good book and an extra snack in your bag for unexpected situations- these are the things that are far more important than the newest shampoo for dry hair. That being said, I did want to share that my Thai connection came through and I’m happily in receipt of 3 bottles of the Rausch egg-a-licious mega shampoo for dry hair. Happiness!!

So many oohs here, and yes, what in the world happened to Mel?
Being the mystery devotee that I am (Criminal Minds, Mentalist, Miss Marble, ancient Hitchocks, CSI’s by the dozen, Raymond Chandler, John Le Carre, Ross McDonald, etc etc) and having grown up as I did long long ago with someone always holding my hand because an attempt had been made to kidnap 2-1/2 year old me, I confess I panicked because I believed you in beginning!!! But what a colorful story you have produced! Oh that purple coat!!!
I believe you already have proof of Mr. Lagerfeld indiscreetly ripping you off. Did you not post a pic of KL wearing a very specific T shirt awhile back? Perhaps you can illuminate your readers again by reposting it.
As for Mel, I will never be able to watch The Year of Living Dangerously again and watch his hands on Sigourney Weaver’s back as they kiss at the plane without thinking he used them to punch out his baby mama. What must Robin Gibson put up with all those years? And his kids….ugh.

Mel – and with a nice photo. are you kidding? He used the “N” word. Many a men can go to their graves w/out using that word and to the woman he had a child with. I think we should show no more pretty pictures of Mel and be done with him. BUT – your blog and images are beautiful.
